Artists are not always known for being particularly neat or hygenic. William E. Bunney's current series of "fossils made from human filth and debris," underscores this point. We look at the piece, and marvel that human filth from the 1990's can already be fossilized. How does he do it? We don't really know. Nor do we want to know. Even though his pieces are fossilized, they still stink to high heaven and can only be displayed in a case or over the internet.
