Liliana Pill began painting in Argentina in 1983. Because her family was poor, Liliana could not afford paints and had to use condiments from her uncle's roadside fast food stand. 11:55 a.m. marks a change for Pill in that it is a departure from her "mustard" paintings. Not only does she use ketchup, but this is also her first venture into painting with meats. The piece sums up her feelings about getting ready for work.
