"I have never seen a stained glass window depicting a red bench." With these words, Huevos Rancheros embarked on the most frustrating endeavour of his career. The 1600 lb window was supposed to go in the Our Lady of Carmina church in San Pedro, Peru. The bishop, upon learning it was a bench seat, ordered that it not be installed. Rancheros himself defied the order and operated the crane to lift the window to its place above the altar. It was his incompetence with the crane that resulted in the accidental destruction of the window and the partial demolition of the church.
