1999 CLUB NATIONALS – TEAM SURVEY

Dear teams

I will be covering you guys again for the third time in as many years. As usual, I have my prejudices and my favorites, and if you are not one of these teams with MFN status, then you can kiss any decent coverage goodbye. Unless, of course, you send me kickbacks.

So here's what I want to know about your very special Club team.

A) what do you think of these factors in Ultimate today?

- the rise of collegiate players at the highest levels

- the free agency aspect of putting together a team

- the Condors continued use of free-range subbing

- the Ex-rules from the Collegiate division

- the 9 year reign of NYNY and DoG

- the increasing athleticism of the sport

- media attention and lack thereof

- 16 team nationals

- parity in quarterfinals

- anything else????

1) What makes your team worthy of any coverage at all?

2) What makes your team different from the rest. You know, special?

3) What human interest stories do you have on your team that might sway the emotions of my readers? (i.e. little Johnny our bench warmer is a collegiate hero at Oral Roberts University and he brought sarcasm and spliff to this poor, desperate school. He is considered a savior of the Ultimate spirirt.)

4) Who are your most egotistical disc players, the superstars who should be lauded and watched on the field (if you regard yourself as one of these players, please make sure to include no one else)?

5) What particular grudges to you hold against other teams (i.e. Blaze vs DoG, Blaze vs Jam, Blaze vs WSL, Jonny G vs Kenny D, Jam vs WSL, Bootyquake vs Second Wind, Sub Zero vs Central region)

6) Please predict semifinals:

7) What type of coverage would you like to see more of?

8) what is that extra edge that your team posses that will get you over the top in playing against well-matched teams en route to semis? Especially with the new format that promises more exciting matches to continue advancing?

9) Every region and every section has a style of playing Ultimate that is unique. What would you consider your style to be?

10) spout off here:
