A BOOK REVIEW from STEVE
IN the FORM of a LETTER from LONDON

editor note: Our co-editor Steve, whilst spending time in London with his flame, read the newest and most grandest Gen X book, "A HEARTBREAKING WORK OF STAGGERING GENIUS" by Dave Eggers.

"that dave eggers book is a snoozer. the preface/introduction/ acknowledgements are good. but diane couldn't get through more than 250 p of the book, but i just figured she's uncultured. so i got her a garrison keeler book and took the eggers book back. it's dull. guess it's who you know, and not if your book is anything but boring that gets you the big press push. oh well. now that i've trashed it, it might reduce your expectations and you might have a chance of enjoying it. it's like hunter thompson if he never did anything interesting and didn't drink or do drugs."
